4xe batteries are safely sealed behind a waterproof casing to help you traverse bodies of water up to 31.5 inches deep. That means Wrangler 4xe offers the same water fording capability as its gas-powered counterparts, sacrificing nothing.
MOVE MOUNTAINS
The Jeep® Brand 4xe battery is built for distant destinations. Travel through remote landscapes with nearly silent performance when in Electric mode and take advantage of the 21-mile all-electric range on Wrangler 4xe. Plus, with access to Level II charging station locations, it's easy to plan your route and recharge along the way.
POWER ON, OFF ROAD
The Jeep® Brand is working to establish a Jeep 4xe Charging Network across America for 4xe owners. These stations will allow you to continue your electrified adventures in some of the most remote destinations, including Jeep Badge of Honor off-road trailheads.

- Eight-year 100,000-mile limited warranty on Wrangler 4xe
- Eight-year 100,000-mile limited warranty for non-Zero Emission States (ZEV) on Grand Cherokee 4xe
- Ten-year 150,000-mile limited warranty data-component for ZEV states on Grand Cherokee 4xe
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Jeep® Brand plug-in hybrid technology pairs a traditional gas engine with the incredible electric motor performance. There’s no need for range anxiety when traveling to distant destinations thanks to the partnership between 4xe technology and the support of your gas-powered engine. Jeep Brand electrification also offers near silent, pure EV-driven performance when in Electric mode. Plus, you can adjust the electric output to suit different driving conditions, recharge and do it all over again.
ELECTRIC MODE
Electric Mode allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The Wrangler 4xe can run on this mode for a distance of up to 21 total miles on a full charge.
HYBRID MODE
The default Hybrid Mode combines torque from both the PHEV powertrain with 2.0L DOHC DI Turbo I4 engine and the electric motor. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque, and thrilling acceleration. In this mode, electric power is consumed first.
ESAVE MODE
eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine, saving battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING
This feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regeneration at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.
RECHARGE
The battery can be fully charged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger (240V), or 12 hours using the included Level I charger (120V). With the ability to charge at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes.
IT’S EASY TO CHARGE UP AND GO
Jeep® Brand hybrid SUVs have two simple charging solutions to choose from. The Level I (120V) charging system comes standard across all 4xe models and plugs into a typical household outlet. The available Level II Jeep Branded TurboDX Electric Vehicle EV Charger (240V) is simple to use and offers a faster charge than Level I. The Level II charger can fully charge the battery in approximately 2 hours versus 12 hours.
EASY AT-HOME CHARGER INSTALLATION
We’ve partnered with Qmerit to make installing a Level II charger at your home simple. For most home configurations, it’s as easy as providing some information about your home layout and electrical panel.
